Churches are required to pay assessments for the operation of the Assembly and its committees. These assessments are tied to the congregation’s ordinary income as declared on the annual Financial Return. Budgetary provision for these assessments must also appear on the Terms of Call form. The calculator linked here will show the total annual liability for each component of the centralised assessments.
Church leaders are placed in positions of trust. The abuse of that trust is a very serious issue both for the leader and the other people involved. The Presbyterian Church recognises the trust that people place in it and want to be worthy of that trust consistently.
