Ministry Roles

Do we have a job for you?

The Ministry & Mission Committee is always on the lookout for people who love the Lord Jesus Christ and who want to pastor his people. If you have a track record of commitment to the cause of Christ and his church, good leadership skills, the ability to teach the Bible relevantly in a range of situations, enjoy good health and understand and embrace the way Presbyterian churches are governed, perhaps God is wanting you to talk to us about serving him in one of our congregations.

Ministers are men who have undertaken a course of training determined by the Church to equip them for overall care and leadership of one or more congregations.

Deaconesses are women who have undertaken a course of training determined by the Church to equip them for various ministries within congregations. These ministries often focus on teaching the Bible to women and children, running training programs within congregations, or spearheading the work of pastoral care. (Deaconesses may also work in situations not connected to congregations, e.g. schools and hospitals.)

Pastoral Assistants are men or women who have been engaged by congregations to serve in a wide array of ministries subject, in some cases, to the approval of the relevant presbytery.
